Charles B. Morris & Jennie B. Mangrum

Charles Benjamin Morris was born April 4, 1858 in Moscow, KY, son of Joseph Benjamin Morris and Martha Dooms who were born and lived in Paris, KY before moving to Hickman County. He married Jennie Belle Mangrum, born September 15, 1867, daughter of Steve Mangrum and Antionette Ramer Mangrum. They married October 16, 1888. Charlie, as he was known, owned and operated a drug store in Moscow from the early 1880's until his death January 5, 1918, during the influenza epidemic of that year. During that period Moscow was a thriving small town with a hotel, bank, general merchandise store and three churches.

He and Jennie had three children:

After Charlie's death, Jennie continued to live in the family home in Moscow until 1923 when she moved to her daughter's and continued to live with her and her family until her death in 1955. She would visit her sons and their families often during the summer months. She was affectionately known as "Mammy Morris" by all the family and friends and neighbors.
