Margaret Ann (Peggy) Williams

Margaret Ann Williams was born in Mayfield, KY at the Mayfield hospital on August 23, 1940, daughter of W. E. and Dorothy J. Williams. She was named for her aunt Margaret Jones (Brown), but from earliest babyhood was called Peggy Ann. She had asthma a lot in her early childhood, and was not able to go to school for the first grade, but was "home schooled" by her mother. That year she was taken to San Antonio, TX by her mother and while there treated by an allergist, who helped her very much.

Peggy attended Clinton Elementary School and graduated from Clinton High School in 1958. In the fall of 1958 she enrolled in Baptist Memorial School of Nursing in Memphis, TN and received her "cap" in May 1959. She married John E. Spears, of Eudora, MS on August 30, 1959. They lived in Memphis, and since the Baptist School of Nursing would not admit married students, she took a course to become an Obstetrics Technician and later became an L.P.N. and worked in that capacity until 1979. At that time she enrolled in nursing school at Murray State University and finally received her degree in 1983. It was only an ambition realized, for by that time she was in such bad health she was unable to work. She and John adopted two children, Julie Anne, born July 18, 1963, and John Alan (now legally Philip Alan deWilton), born August 8, 1966. They had two children of their own, a daughter, Amy Elizabeth, born October 20, 1967, and a daughter Jennifer, who lived for only 24 hours.

Peggy and John were divorced in 1977 and she married Roger David Brimm on Sept. 10, 1978. They lived in Mayfield, KY before moving to Florida in 1983. She died Nov. 3, 1990 after a lengthy illness.
